Wormblood — Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 28, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Wormblood (the "Game") collects, how it is used, and your rights. By playing the Game you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not play.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run the Game:
- Anonymous player ID — a randomly generated identifier issued by Firebase Authentication so we can save your progress, skins, and high scores.
- Gameplay data — leaderboard entries (score, time, weapons used) stored in Cloud Firestore.
- Google Play Games profile (only if you sign in with Google Play Games) — your gamer name, avatar, and Play Games player ID.
- Technical data — standard device and browser information transmitted automatically (e.g., OS version, browser type) for compatibility and abuse prevention.
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated information about how the Game is used (page views, in-game events such as starting a match or reaching a milestone, approximate geographic region derived from IP, device type) collected via Google Analytics for Firebase. This data helps us understand which parts of the Game players engage with and where they drop off.
3. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your real name, email address (unless you sign in with Google), phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any payment information. The Game does not show third-party advertising.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To save your progress and let you return to it across sessions on the same device.
- To display global leaderboards.
- To prevent abuse and enforce fair play.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the Game.
5. Service Providers
We rely on Google services to operate the Game:
- Firebase Authentication — issues your anonymous player ID.
- Cloud Firestore — stores leaderboard scores and player records.
- Cloud Functions for Firebase — validates leaderboard submissions on the server.
- Google Play Games Services — provides optional sign-in, gamer profile, achievements, and saved games.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — measures aggregated, anonymous usage of the Game (page views, in-game events, device and approximate-region information) so we can improve it. Analytics may set cookies or use similar device identifiers in your browser.
These services are governed by Google's own Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Data Storage and Security
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (in the United States). Communication between the Game and Google services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS). We do not store passwords; sign-in is handled entirely by Google.
7. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
You can:
- Reset your data — clearing the Game's storage or uninstalling the app discards your local anonymous identifier.
- Opt out of analytics — use a browser-level Do Not Track setting, an analytics-blocking extension, or the official Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on to prevent measurement.
- Disconnect Play Games — sign out from the Google Play Games app to revoke the connection.
- Request deletion — if you have signed in with Google Play Games, contact us at the address below to request deletion of your associated leaderboard entries and player record.
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Game after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
